Role description

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our existing team.

 

The Bookkeeping Team

Our Bookkeeping Team provides clients with modern bookkeeping services, utilising the latest cloud technology.  The team plays a critical role in the practice, carrying out essential bookkeeping tasks to facilitate the completion of VAT returns, management reports and give a sound base for the preparation of the annual accounts.

Senior Bookkeeper

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and work as part of the Bookkeeping Team
  • Managing a multitude of deadlines on behalf of yourself and the wider team
  • Overseeing and reviewing bookkeeping tasks of the team
  • Help to organise the workload of your designated team members
  • Identify and implement procedures and systems for new clients
  • Maintain clients accounting records of their own portfolio of clients on various software but mainly cloud packages
  • Reconcile control accounts (bank, purchase ledger, sales ledger, PAYE, wages, VAT etc.)
  • Timely completion of VAT returns
  • Prepare reports, letters and other documents
  • Telephone and video meeting liaison
  • Establish a rapport with clients, directors, managers and staff
  • Working with the management team to grow the bookkeeping aspect of the business

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain relationships with senior team members, clients and suppliers

Technical skills:

  • Advanced IT skills (including MS Word, Excel, QuickBooks Online ‘QBO’ and Xero)
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Proficient use of email, calendar and the internet

Terms

Holiday            23 days per year + bank holidays

 

Hours              Full time (37.5 hours per week with flexible working options)

 

Salary              Competitive and dependant on experience
