Gascoynes support local charities with financial skills workshop.

Sara Humphreys from our Wymondham office recently held a Finance & Budgeting workshop in partnership with the Norfolk Community Foundation.

Norfolk Community Foundation is a charity dedicated to building stronger communities and improving the lives of people in Norfolk. They support around 2,000 small charitable groups, with their work covering 25% of people across the county.

Whilst granting around £6m to support their network of charities, NCF’s work goes well beyond this including their Good for Good programme where charities are given free access to local businesses and their expertise.

Gascoynes’ involvement with NCF followed a networking event where they were asked to participate at a Skills Exchange Workshop. The objective of this was to deliver financial training to ten charities helping with vital accountancy principles such as forecasting, budgeting and book-keeping.

Lauren Birch, Corporate Giving Advisor for NCF said “We were so happy to welcome Gascoynes to our Skills Exchange workshop. Delegates found the time enormously helpful. It was delivered at the right pace helping everyone leave with new and improved skills plus an excellent set of templates to support them.”

Sara Humphreys added “I was delighted to run the workshop in collaboration with NCF and play our part in helping charities across Norfolk learn new and important skills. We look forward to running similar events in the future.”
