Family Fund(raising) Final Figure

We are happy to announce we raised £5,760 for Family Fund.

Another year of fundraising comes to a close for Gascoynes.

As a firm we have now been able to raise money for two charities and are looking to continue our success into the future. In our first year of fundraising we were able to raise £3,600 for Multiple Sclerosis Society UK and were pleased to hear about the impact that the money raised has had.

For 2019 our chosen charity was Family Fund. It was a charity put forward by one of our staff members as Family Fund were able to help support her family when her niece suffered from a serious stroke. They provided her family with a grant to support her niece throughout her recovery. They assisted with her physio and swimming lessons, to help her regain her movement as well as giving her chances to stay interactive with other children.

As a firm, we wanted to take the opportunity to help other families that are going through similar situations.

To start off the year we did some internal fundraising through monthly theme days, which were very popular with large volumes of participation from our staff. These included themes like football shirt day as well as Fancy dress and Christmas to name a few.

We also held a charity quiz night in July which was very successful as we were able to raise £800 on the night. We had loads of fantastic prizes donated to us to raffle off and the quiz itself was very professionally run by John Evans and our fundraising team.

We also entered the Suffolk WholeHog, a mud run where we ran, walked and squelched our way around a 5-mile course. We encountered obstacles including crawling under cargo nets, climbing up steep banks and walls, wading through rivers, tunnels, slides, jumps and swings. We had a great turn out with 12 staff including our MD Chris completing the course.

Thank you for your kind donations and all the Gascoynes staff members for coming together. As a team were able to raise an incredible £3,260 which Gascoynes generously donated an additional £2,500, this gave us a massive total of £5,760.

We are very proud of what we accomplished as a firm and are looking forward to what we can achieve in 2020 for our next charity.
