Founded in 2007 as an art gallery, Suffolk based Star Editions quickly evolved into a specialist producer of licensed art prints. Over the next six years, the business expanded into postcards and greeting cards before diversifying further into merchandise.
Almost two decades on and Star Editions now design and manufacture 44 different product lines, including prints, mugs, tea towels and magnets. Operating from their head office on the outskirts of Ipswich, the company manufactures high-quality licensed products on a print-on-demand basis supplying major wholesale customers and brands such as English Heritage and Waterstones.
Alongside its wholesale operation, Star Editions also manages direct-to-consumer websites for over 50 brands. These licensed partnerships include well-known names such as Mr. Men, Miffy, and Peter Rabbit. The company also works closely with leading charities including WWF, Born Free Foundation, World Animal Protection, Scope, and Crisis.
Back in 2015, Gascoynes acquired Barry Hagger & Co; a local accountancy firm who Star Editions had been using since they formed. Following an introductory meeting along with some recommendations it was an easy decision for Star Editions’ CEO Will Marston to continue using Gascoynes as their chartered accountant.
