Over £10k raised for Just George!

Throughout 2025, we fundraised for local charity, Just George, a Special Named Fund at the Children and Young People’s Cancer Association (CCLG). Just George raises money for research into rhabdomyosarcoma, in memory of local 4-year old George.

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve raised an incredible £10,161 – the most we’ve ever raised for a charity! A huge thank you to everyone who has got involved, attended an event or donated over the past year.

We completed many different fundraising activities over the year including hosting coffee mornings across all three of our offices, hosting Bingo and Quiz nights, a Golf Day, as well as taking on the challenge of climbing Scafell Pike!

Chris Reeve, Managing Director of Gascoynes said:

“Every year we support a charity that is put forward by our staff members so we can give back to our local community.

“We have all felt the effect cancer has on families and it’s even more devastating when it affects someone so young.

“Raising money to fund research to help children going through cancer treatments has been really rewarding.

“The work that Lisa and David do to raise awareness of rhabdomyosarcoma and help other families in similar positions is inspiring.

“We’re so pleased to be able to fundraise a significant amount of money which will help go into research projects and hopefully make a difference to others.”

Lisa Radcliffe, George’s Mum, said:

“Childhood cancer is biologically different to adult cancers. Specific learning is needed to find kinder and more effective treatments for children and young people. Research is the answer. Thanks to Gascoynes, our fund reached the milestone of £320,000 in December, enabling us to fund our third research project.

“Businesses like Gascoynes who go out of their way to fundraise for charities are making an incredible difference. We have loved supporting their fundraising efforts and getting to know the team. We couldn’t be more thankful.”

If you’d like to make a donation to Just George, you can do so on our JustGiving page until the end of February.

We’ll soon be announcing which charity we’ll be supporting in 2026, so keep your eyes peeled on our social media for an announcement soon!
