Trainee Bookkeeper

Role description

We are looking for an trainee Bookkeeper to join our existing team.

 

The Bookkeeping Team

Our Bookkeeping Team provides clients with modern bookkeeping services, utilising the latest cloud technology.  The team plays a critical role in the practice, carrying out essential bookkeeping tasks to facilitate the completion of VAT returns, management reports and give a sound base for the preparation of the annual accounts.

Trainee Bookkeeper

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clients accounting records on various software but mainly cloud packages
  • Identify and implement procedures and systems for new clients
  • Reconcile control accounts (bank, purchase ledger, sales ledger, PAYE, wages, VAT etc.)
  • Prepare reports, letters and other documents
  • Working towards a multitude of deadlines on behalf of yourself and the wider team
  • Working with the team to grow the bookkeeping aspect of the business

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain relationships with senior team members, clients and suppliers

Technical skills:

  • Advanced IT skills (including MS Word and Excel)
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Proficient use of email, calendar and the internet

Terms

Holiday            20 days per year + bank holidays

 

Hours              Full time (37.5 hours per week with flexible working options)

 

Salary              Competitive and dependant on experience
